Made from a vintage hand embroidered fine cotton table cloth, this beautiful blouse will fit up to size UK 18-20. The embroidery has all been sewn by hand using white threads, hence being known as whitework. This unique piece features clover leaves, daffodils, thistles & forget me nots, all tied up in ribbon bows.
I wonder if these flowers are symbolic of Scotland, Wales, England and Ireland?
They're beautifully sewn on butter soft cotton lawn, which has a hemstitched hem, and a hand crochet lace trim all around.
At the back we have used the crochet to create a corset back lacing, which will enable extra flexibility and breathability.
The neck edge is bound for a luxurious finish, with a pussy bow to tie at the front, inside are French seams, and the short sleeves have been simply finished with a rolled hem. If you prefer they could be trimmed with cotton lace & gathered with elastic, emphasizing the puff sleeve silhouette, message me if you want an elastic gather at the cuffs, I can change it no problem.
The front is open, but if you would like it to be sewn closed, or have extra ties or buttons added, this is an option & we'll do that for free, just add a note at checkout.

Care: All of our pieces can be machine washed, but we strongly recommend that you pop them inside a drawstring fabric washbag, or pillowcase with a hair tie to keep it closed, to keep them safe against other clothing, and gentle handwashing is the best method for longevity. Some pieces may have small stains or imperfections, but we think this adds to their unique charm.
